The Changing of the Seasons

So, remember my wallpaper project from last January??? This is the finished project, it looks so nice....I came upstairs the other day to see that Stockton had pulled off four large patches of this beautiful wallpaper....UGH!!!! I didn't know what to do, I think I was in shock!! All I was thinking was that I was going to have to tear it all down and put it back up again. I didn't think there was any way it was going to be patched and look decent!!!! It's a good thing he's cute.........I did get it patched and you can't even tell. Thank heavens for wallpaper glue sticks.......

On to better things...This is our drive through the mountains on conference Sunday in October. The leaves were so pretty and it was 90 degrees, even on top!!!! It was beautiful. We are so lucky to live here and be surrounded by these beautiful mountains and the changing of the seasons.
Mya's kindergarten class visited the Pumpkin Walk this year. This is always a fun thing to do. At the end they have all of these cut-outs that the kids can play in. I thought these were so cute, even Stockton loved it.
Mya - always a princess!!!!!

Stockton - my little yoda.

Now, here we are cutting Christmas trees in our winter wonderland. It has been a long time since we have had this much snow for Thanksgiving. We couldn't even get into our usual spot for tree cutting this year. We just had to pull off the side of the road. The snow was up to our waists in places. The kids had a ball sledding, but they got worn out pretty quick. We got some pretty trees and the snow even made it more fun!

I don't think we'll have to wish for a White Christmas this year!!!!!!

My Running Extravaganza

My end of summer "Running Extravaganza" started with the Top of Utah Half Marathon! It was a great run! I just wanted to beat my time from last fall, and I did!!! I don't know why I caught the running bug this summer, but it is something I have enjoyed and needed. I'm running soooo fast....can you see me?????
At the finish line with Ben and Molly. Ben didn't even break a sweat!!!!
My summer running partner and friend, Jill. We trained for this all summer and finished!! Check mark off of our bucket lists.

Next up -- the Red Rock Relay in St. George! I love relay races and I am addicted to the RAGNAR. This was the same concept, different place. We started in Brianhead and ended in Zions National Park. Couldn't ask for prettier scenery, plus I got to run with Carrie and have mom and Jenny to cheer us on!
Ready, set, go! Our first runner had to ride the chair lift to the top and then run down. I was runner number two and picked up at the bottom.

I have a smile on my face now, but it doesn't last long...this leg was harrrrd. It was called "The Diablo" and didn't let the name down! It was four miles, straight up for an elevation gain of 800ft at 10,500 feet. Whew..couldn't breathe. But now--I am the "Diablo Destroyer"!!!
Carrie - rip, roarin' and ready to go! Waiting at the exchange for me to come sprintin' in as fast as I can.
Had to throw a scenic shot in since it was soooo beautiful!!!!!!!Whew! We made it through our first legs and still alive!!! We had to mark our shoulders with a marker each time we finished running a leg. Kind of fun....

My last leg was running down into Snow Canyon (that's me in the distance) just as the sun was coming up. It was so pretty I got choked up and a tear may have run down my cheek....

We are at the end of Carrie's last leg, the bottom of Snow Canyon. Jenny and mom were there to cheer us on. It's always fun to have people to cheer you on.
We're done!! We have run through the finish line and finished the Red Rock Relay! We loved it and got to make some new friends. It's hard not to make friends when you are living in a car together for two days. So much fun - and hopefully now you can see why I have caught the running bug. Now I am trying to keep in shape and be ready for next year!

Baptism Day

The day is finally here! Caleb was baptized on Saturday, September 4th. How exciting!! Caleb loved every minute of it and him and Craig looked so good in all their white. The program was good and just long enough. As soon as Craig dunked Caleb in the water, Stockton let out a "Whoa" and then giggled. Caleb asked if he could do it again.

Caleb was so lucky to have all his family there to share this special day. This is Treven, Caleb and Grayson, the three amigos...

Ending the day with a family portrait and a party at our house. What a great way to start off the Labor day weekend and the Wellsville Founder's Day activities.

Stockton being Stockton

Stockton loves watching the Barbie princess movies on my bed. This is his new favorite position. On his belly with his chin in his hands. I thought it was so cute, I just had to take pictures.

A Wedding

Our nephew got married over the weekend and asked Mya to be a flower girl and Caleb to be the ring bearer. They were so cute and did their jobs perfectly! Caleb looked so grown up and liked having such an important job. Mya just loved being part of the wedding - they are her favorite things. Thanks Eric and Heather for letting us be a part of this day!

First Day of School

"The smell of scotch tape, and bouquets of sharpened pencils....." a quote from my favorite movie "You've Got Mail". I love this time of year, especially the school supply aisles in Walmart - I could spend hours and hours there. The first day of school has finally arrived. Caleb started third grade last week and Mya started kindergarten today. My house is quiet with just me and Stockton. The air has changed and it feels like fall. What a great time of year!!!!

Eight is Great!!

Yesterday was the big day! We have been waiting for this all week, and it was the longest week ever...according to Caleb. He is finally 8 years old!!! We made this awesome skateboard cake together.

Caleb was up bright and early waiting, not so patiently, to open his presents. I just love it when the kids get excited. It makes me want to spoil them all the time!!!!
He had a "Late-night/Night game" birthday party and invited all his buddies. He had them all wear dark clothes, we ate hamburgers, opened presents and drove the neighbors crazy until 10:00pm. Even the little neighbor girls came over to play. They made Caleb a birthday cheer and embarassed him completely!
I hope you had a great birthday Caleb!! We Love You!

Mya is 5 years old!

Happy Birthday Mya! 5 years old - going on 15!! What a great and busy day we've had!

First, we had to bake and decorate the Barbie cake. Mya and Caleb did a great job!

Then we had a princess birthday party. All of the neighborhood friends and cousins came over. We decorated crowns and wands. Drank pink lemonade and ate princess sugar cookies. Then all the princesses lined up for pictures and dancing in the courtyard.

Even Presli Jo dressed up, danced and giggled. It was a great day!! We love Mya so much and we are so happy she is part of our family. She keeps up hopping with all the questions and talking. She loves to play with her cousins and friends and is way excited for kindergarten.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS!!! WE LOVE YOU!!

Summer Fun

Here are some pictures from the crazy summer we have had. I can't believe school is just around the corner. We have been so busy playing, playing and more playing!!!

We started with the dance review. Mya and Avrie danced their hearts out. It is so fun to watch. They love it and they look so cute in the tutus.

Fishing at the Darley Dam on Memorial Day is becoming a fun tradition. The kids love taking out the paddle boat and catching the fish - there were quite a few caught this day.

A trip to Bear Lake is a summer staple. It was very windy this day and we had a hard time keeping our chairs and towels grounded. We still had fun playing in the waves, sand and hunting for shells.

"Oh, what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green? Do we swim in a pool to keep ourselves cool or swing in a swing up high? Is that what you do? So do I!!!!!"
